Sciencewerkz EdTech Learning Lab
A self-paced reading track through the standards that make questions, competencies, analytics, and learning tools portable across platforms — starting with the data format that underpins all of them.
Available now. Start anywhere; lessons link to the next.
From the six data types of plain JSON to a version-controlled,
indexed jsonb store of canonical exam questions — content
kept separate from presentation, fast under live test delivery.
The sequels. Each one extends the question-bank engine into a wider ecosystem — the same thread, new standards.
Question & Test Interoperability — the 1EdTech XML standard for portable assessment items and tests. The format our JSONB store is designed to export to and import from.
→ /qti/
Competencies and Academic Standards Exchange — how frameworks and standards become machine-readable. CASE-lite is the simplified JSON shape. Used to tag questions to learning objectives.
→ /case/
The two event standards for learning analytics — how "a student answered question Q at time T" gets expressed and exchanged. xAPI statements; Caliper metric profiles.
→ /analytics/
Learning Tools Interoperability — securely embedding an assessment tool inside an LMS. OAuth 2.0 / OIDC launch, plus Deep Linking, AGS, and Names & Role services.
→ /lti/
How this grows. When a course is ready, its folder
(e.g. /qti/) is dropped in next to /json/, and
the matching card's "Planned" badge is swapped for a "Live" link. The hub
page itself never needs restructuring.
